Our high school teen ministry is dedicated to helping the students in our church to achieve a strong relationship with God and with others. Besides having great high school students we also have a fabulous couple leading our teens (a married couple who helps guide and counsel the teens). Dan and Heidi Rice, our Youth Ministers, lead this ministry with the goal to help equip the teens as they are the next generation of Christian leaders. We focus on developing strong relationships with one another, personal spiritual growth, participating in a variety of activities, and being an example to the world around us. We also have a parental advisory group that helps give input to this ministry.
Middle School Ministry
The Middle School Ministry is a fun and vibrant part of the church. This is the ministry group of 7th and 8th graders. This lively group of young people comes from all over the region for bi-weekly Bible Studies. We have parties and other social activities each month. We have gone bowling, had swim parties, movie nights, game nights, Christmas parties, among other events. Most of our Middle Schoolers “fellowship” by means of AIM on the computer, which keeps them tied into the group throughout the week. The group sits and worships together at the Sunday church service. A big highlight of the year is the group will go together to summer camp at the Heartland Youth Camp which is held each summer usually in July. Other events we enjoy are a group road trips, camping & float trip outings, along service projects. Go MSM!
PreTeen Ministry
Our preteen group (5th & 6th Grades) is a great group of kids. The group has a weekly class in the Children’s Ministry. The teachers and leaders of this class have been hand-picked among the best youth workers in the church. The class is fun and lively and they are learning powerful lessons about God and love for Jesus. The preteen group also has a monthly fun activity that include bowling nights, skate nights, parties, movie nights, and swim parties to name a few. The Preteen Ministry is a wonderful place for a young person to grow and develop their young faith in Christ and build great friendships along the way.
Children
The Children’s Ministry of The Greater St. Louis Church is another top priority for our church. The ministry is directed by fulltime ministry staff and its philosophy is that this part of the church needs to be as strong and effective as any other area. As of December 1 2004, we rolled out our new Sunday School curriculum. The church uses the curriculum from renowned ‘Group Publishing’s Hands On Bible Program. This graphic intensive, active learning, activity based, and fun method of teaching kids about God and love for Jesus is a proven method. Kids who participate in this program will want to come back the next week and continue in the adventure that they find at church. Our teachers are high energy, warm and caring people who love the Lord and love children. It is the mindset of the Greater St. Louis Church that the Children’s Ministry be given top priority and church resources will not be spared in order to make this ministry an excellent part of the church.
